A full week of activities

This morning in Tawny Owls Toftwood we have been in the mud kitchen. The children have been exploring the mud and using the tools to mix and mash. Outside play is extremely valuable for our children’s learning, and here at Little Owls we promote a love of outdoors with all of our children.

Our Toftwood snowy Owls have been celebrating ‘Our Families’ and as part of that topic they have been ‘cooking’ like they do at home. The children used various materials such as oats, rice, oil and water to mix together. They made cakes 🎂 and cupcakes 🧁 yum, yum

In Tawny Owls Toftwood, we have been having a wonderful time doing some craft activities. Tawny Owls used glue and sticking materials to make some beautiful collages. At Little Owls we always have craft and creation activities available for the children, this encourages fine motor skills and sensory development for our babies.

This week Tawny Owls Scarning have enjoyed exploring our garden. We have enjoyed going on a scavenger hunt in the grass garden looking for different natural resources. Children found twigs and leaves. We then used these to decorate our coats for our Winter display board.

The children here at Little Owls Scarning have enjoyed their first Music and Movement session with Charley! The children learnt about different musical notes including ‘C’, ‘D’ and many more too. The children learnt lots about high and low notes and tried these out on the recorders and using the bells! The Barn Owls also enjoyed singing and dancing to ‘Music Man’. We can’t wait for our next session.
