Baby Yoga, Wheels on the bus, Kindness

Baby Yoga

Today in Tawny Owls we have been doing some baby yoga! The children have been listening to some practitioners and watching them demonstrate some yoga poses! Some of the children were able to imitate the yoga poses and hold some different positions! The children have tried mountain pose, where they put their hands together. Tickle Toes, were they reached to their feet to tickle their tows, Downward dog, where they were bending down into dog pose with their hands on the floor and sun pose where they reached up high with their hands! The children were really engaged whilst doing some yoga poses!
Well Done Tawny Owls

The wheels on the bus go round and round…

A big interest for our barn owls this week has been buses! 🚌
On Wednesday we were delivered a big cardboard box and when asked what they wanted to create with it, the barn owls said “bus!”
Together we discussed what buses we see in the environment, one of the children said they saw “blue bus” that morning and said that it was the number “8”!
We worked as a team to create a bus similar to the one we’ve seen outside the nursery – we painted the box blue, stuck on some wheels and wrote our the number 8 to stick on too! The children were so excited they started to blow on the paint for it to dry quicker! 🎨
We then enjoyed playing in the bus and discussing where we were travelling with some children saying they were going on “holiday” and some saying they were “going to the shop” 💰
The next day, we put our coats on and ventured outside the front of the nursery! We’re lucky enough that the number 8 bus stops right outside the nursery! We stood and waited looking down the road, the children suggested that singing wheels on the bus might make the bus quicker. We all started singing and the bus came round the corner! The barn owls were so excited and waved as the bus driver waved back! 🚍
What a wonderful couple days all about the children’s interest! Well done Barn Owls!

Random act of kindness day!

Today at Little Owls Scarning we have been celebrating Random Act of kindness day!
In Tawny Owls and across the nursery the babies and toddlers have been taking home flowers and chocolates for their Mummies and Daddies.
In Snowy Owls the children enjoyed giving out flowers to the practitioners to show their gratitude for their hard work. The children also enjoyed handing out chocolate and flowers to their parents at the end of their nursery day.
In Barn Owls the children have been making kindness flowers and talking about what it means to be kind and how we can be kind to others.
Great job Scarning!
