Baking Week, Granparents Story Cafe & People Who Help Us

Baking Week

This week in Tawny Owls we have been doing lots of baking! We have made chocolate crackle cakes, cheese straws, brownies and shortbread biscuits. Today we have made brownies!
The children have taken in turns to pour and tip the different ingredients into the bowl, showing control whilst pouring! Some of our smaller children have needed a little help pouring the ingredients, they really enjoyed watching the process of adding all of the ingredients together. Whilst the practitioner cracked the eggs into the bowl, the children watched, some said some counting words alongside the practitioner. Tawny Owls have shown good listening and sharing skills and have taken turns using the spoon to mix all of the ingredients together! Well Done Tawny Owls!

Granparents Story Cafe

Today we held our third and final Grandparents Story Cafe. Once again we planned for the rain, but we’re fortunate enough that it stopped just as the session began so we could enjoy the outside area
The children and their grandparents enjoyed spending time together as they took part in various activities such as, painting a plant pot and planting a seed to put in it when it grows. They enjoyed decorating a cupcake, colouring pictures and making playdough faces.
There were lovely treats on offer for all to enjoy and then we ended the session with a lovely story all about Oliver enjoying gardening with his Grandad.
Thank you so much to all our wonderful grandparents and families for coming to this session and the previous two sessions! We have thoroughly enjoyed hosting these for you!

People Who Help Us

This week we have been focusing on people who help us. Tawny Owls have been taking part in some Doctor and Dentist themed activities.
Some of the Toddlers have enjoyed using toothbrushes to practise brushing some teeth, they moved the tooth brushes around and spread the foam all over the teeth
Other Toddlers have taken part in a Doctor surgery role play using the teddies as our patients. The toddlers used the stethoscope and thermometers to check the bears and some of the children used the eye drops to put in the teddies eyes. The children were very careful and took good care of the teddy bears. Well done Tawny Owls
