Big school awaits our little owls

Big School awaits

We say goodbye to some of our Barn Owl children as they commence their final Little Owls journey onto big school.

It has been our absolute pleasure to care for you and watch you all grow into the confident, happy and beautiful children you all are today.

For those children that returned to nursery from the 1st June we hope that our parents enjoy their Little Owls goodbye gift bags and we have a lovely surprise for you all in the “little bag” contained inside your pack!!

Enjoy and we miss you all already

Natural resources

Today in Tawny Owls Scarning we had lots of fun investigating different ways of making marks in the playdough.

We used a range of different resources. The babies enjoyed using the wooden logs to roll out the playdough and printing marks using the shell.

Natural resources are such a fab way to create and experiment with mark making.

Old Mac Donald

This week’s theme in Tawny Owls Scarning is farm animals and our song of the week is old mac Donald. This song is a lovely way to combine music and tiny talk for our babies to engage with.

Construction

This week we have re-introduced some foam bricks into our Snowy Owls Scarning construction area.

The children have been really interested in these and have been working as a team to build car garages and houses together.

Our Snowy Owls loved this open-ended activity and they used a variety of loose parts and resources to extend their play

Ice creams at the beach

Today in Barn Owls Toftwood our children have been making ice creams. They discussed colours and flavours and when and where they enjoy eating their ice creams.

Our children spoke about their trips to the beach to have icecream.

Ballet lessons

Today in Barn Owls Scarning, the children have enjoyed their first ballet lesson with Melissa!

The children learnt how to hold 1st, 2nd and 3rd position, learnt how to jump, and finished off with a little dance too!!

The children cannot wait for their next lesson already!
