Body painting, polling station and bus trip

Body Painting

Today in Tawny Owls the children have been busy getting super messy doing some body painting and using the rollers to make lots of marks! The children have had an area where they can use the rollers to create their own individual marks and then they have enjoyed an area where they can get messy and use their bodies to mix the paint together!
Some of the children really enjoyed using their bodies to mix the paint together, Toddlers used the rollers to paint their feet so they can make foot prints on the paper.
Some liked sitting in the paint and using the rollers to create lots of marks around them
Tinies used some rollers with paint to create marks on the paper, some of them liked making lots of marks with the rollers and some of them liked using their fingers and toes to paint with as well!  This was a much enjoyed activity! Well Done Tawny Owls!

Polling Station

Polling Station!
This morning in Snowy Owls Scarning we have been busy voting following todays general election. The children had the opportunity to vote for which story we were going to read at group time out of our 5 core stories. The children entered the polling booth and ticked the story they wanted to be read on their ballot paper. The children then placed their vote in the ballot box. The children were excited to see what story got chosen! The results were as followed…

Push the button-8 votes
Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?-5 votes
Chicka chicka boom boom-1 vote

At group time we revealed what story had won and the children were very excited! Great choice Snowy Owls!

Our Bus Trip to Town!

This morning a few children from Barn Owls and Snowy Owls were lucky enough to take a trip to town on the bus!
After we had grabbed our coats and bottles, we walked outside to the bus stop where we waited for the “8 bus” (MR) which is “blue” (ETB)! Once we got on the bus, we spoke about what we could see, we spotted:
“A blue car” – EF
”big houses and trees” – MR
When we got to town, we headed straight to the flower market stall where we had a look at all the pretty flowers and bought a plant for the Snowy Owls garden!
Next we walked to the Co-Op where we bought a few punnets of strawberries, carried in the basket by EB, and a few pots of cream to go on top! At the till, the lovely lady working in the Co-Op allowed the children to use the scanner to scan the barcodes on our items!
Finally, before leaving to go back on the bus, we sat down for a snack in the garden area by QD! We had a lovely time checking out all of the different flowers – we saw giant daisies, pretty pink flowers and little purple flowers too!
On the way back to nursery, we spotted a few of the staff members’ houses which sparked a quick conversation about where we live and how far our houses are from nursery!
We had such a great time on our trip and can’t wait to go again!
