FILL A SOCK AND HELP THE HOMELESS At Little Owls Day Nursery

FILL A SOCK AND HELP THE HOMELESS.

Each Christmas at Little Owls we try to support a charity for people who are less fortunate than ourselves.
At this festive time of the year we reflect on how fortunate we are and look to help makes a difference to someone else’s Christmas.
The Peoples picnic is a charity close to our hearts at Little Owls as we have a little boy who attends our Toftwood nursery whose nanny is a long serving volunteer with the charity and cook’s hot meals and supports the homeless in Norwich on a weekly basis. In a world where people can feel so lonely any form of compassion makes a difference especially in this unfortunate climate of hostility which is often shown to the homeless and less fortunate people in our county.
What we would like to do at Little Owls is to support the fill a sock and help the homeless initiative.
The idea behind this is that our families would fill a sock (with the other sock included) either for a male or female with items that are listed on the attached flyer.
We have very kindly been donated in excess of 200 pairs of brand new football socks from Birds our uniform supplier so that parents can have immediate access to socks and hopefully the person receiving them can utilise them on these very cold evenings.
We are greatly appreciated to Ray and Linda at Birds and thank them for their generosity in supporting both our nursery and this charity.

We will have baskets of socks available in all nursery rooms for you to help yourselves to. Can we please ask for all filled socks to be returned to nursery by Friday 14th December so we can arrange collection of these and they can be distributed to the people who need them the most.We also have pink and blue ribbon at nursery to tie these up to indicate male or female so please do not worry about ribbons.
Many thanks for your help and support and let’s hope that we can make someone else’s Christmas just a little easier this year.
Kindest regards
Justine Watts (Nursery Director)
