Horses, Bird Feeders & Staff Update Training Morning

Walk to the horses

At Tawny Owls Scarning, we enjoy spending lots of time outside in all weathers, to explore our natural environment. One of the wonderful ways we explore the outside, is by heading out for walks together!
Recently we headed out for a walk to see the lake, which the babies love! The babies sat so nicely and enjoyed observing their natural environment, pointing out lot of animals like the ducks, and a swan!
The babies also love to see the horses, who live behind us! We paid them a visit, feeding them some tasty apples, and Tawny Owls gave them lots of smiles and waves to say hello!
“Neigh, hello” to the horses, OS
“Hiya” to the horses, TF
“Quack” to the swan, PC
“Duck, quack quack” about the ducks, MP
Well done Tawny Owls

Bird Feeders!

This morning in Barn owls, we have been creating bird feeders to go in our gardens at home! To do this, the barn owls used orange peels left over from our morning snack, lard and some bird seed mix. They first had to use their super strength to mix the seed into the lard, ‘I am super strong’, ‘this is hard’, ‘I have hulk power!’.
Once this was complete, we could spoon the mixture into our orange peels with a bit of string to hang them up with. The children enjoyed using their measuring and capacity words to describe how they were putting the seeds into the peel, ‘mine is full! ‘, ‘I need a spoon full’ and ‘this is heavy’.
The children thoroughly enjoyed this activty, being outside in the fresh air listening to the different birds and spotting a pigeon on the roof!
Comment and share any photos of birds you spot in your garden!
