Horses, Painting and Road Safety

Horses

The children at Scarning have been very excited this week to see our horses return to our field , and so this morning Barn owls have enjoyed going to see the horses taking them some snacks of carrots to munch on 🐴
Barn owls were very excited to feed the horses holding out their hands safely for them to take the carrots from 🥕 They then took it in turns to stroke the horse gently saying hello to them 🐴
“It’s a white and brown one”
“They are eating the carrot quick, I think they hungry”
“Look they are eating the grass”
Well done Barn owls Scarning

Painting

This morning Tiny and Toddler Tawny Owls have enjoyed painting! We flipped the tables over and used cling film as our canvas to create some beautiful artwork! The babies loved this activity and weren’t afraid to get stuck in! The children used a range of tools like the paint rollers, sponges and paint brushes to create a range of marks and patterns. Great work Tawny Owls

Road Safety

This afternoon one of our lovely parents was so kind and came to visit us and talk to us about road safety at both our Little Owls settings.
Barn Owls at Scarning and Toftwood had the opportunity to see some traffic lights and road signs, discussing what they think each of them mean. Barn Owls additionally we’re able to participate in the “stop and go” game, where the children had to acknowledge the different colours of the sign and listen to their grown ups.
Some of our barn owls said:
“I’ve seen them before!” “Green is for go!” “That one is digging” “Red means stop”
Scarning discussions and comments:
PR and AW: “ green means go”
RN: “ orange is slow down and get ready”
HH: “ red means stop”🛑
AS: “ I see them in my car, driving”
EC: “ can I wear that- I like my cardi”
FTM: “ why is there scaffolding”
LM: “ the red takes ages in my car”
Well done Barn Owls and thank you so much for visiting us!
