Let’s get ready for school

This week in Barn Owls we are starting our Six Weeks to School preparation for all of our Barn Owls who are going to school in September!

This week’s theme was Listening and Attention where Barn Owls have been encouraged to bring in their favourite stories from home!

Charley in Barn Owls Red has been busy making a school role play area and the children helped making bunting for the area! We have included pens and pencils within the area to support the children’s learning.

The Barn Owls enjoyed being able to pretend to be both the teacher as well as the students in the school corner!

The 6 weeks to school countdown has begun at Little Owls!

The Barn Owls in Scarning have loved bringing in some show and tell items, or their favourite books to share with their friends at group time!

Some of our special items have included:
– a picture of a snake!
– a toy crocodile
– an apple and satsuma
– lots of story books
– a pumpkin plant

We have loved sharing these with all of our friends at nursery, and we are excited to see what other books and items we get to talk about throughout the rest of the week too!

Butterflies

With the imminent arrival of our caterpillars this week snowy Owls Toftwood have been exploring butterflies This morning the children have enjoyed getting messy in a butterfly sponge painting activity! The children chose which colours they wanted their butterflies to be, painted their sponges and folded them in half to create pretty symmetry on their sponges! We were very excited to see the outcome of our painted butterflies on our paper
