Meeting Buzz and Woody!

Today at Little Owls Scarning we have had some new friendly four legged friends join us for the week, Buzz and Woody, Toftwood’s pet guinea pigs!
Barn Owls were very excited to see that Buzz and Woody would be staying for a sleepover within their room during the week and already have done a fantastic job taking care of our new friends, helping with cleaning out, feeding and making sure our friends use their quite voices and kind hands when around them.
Throughout the day all rooms within Little Owls Scarning have been coming to visit Buzz and Woody and have been looking forward to getting hands on with them, taking turns to stroke them and feed them their favourite snack of Cucumber!

Buzz and Woody have also spent lots of time in their pen today which has allowed us all to enjoy their company whilst keeping them safe and comfortable in their new surroundings!

Autumn Fun

Recently in Tawny Owls Scarning, we have enjoyed a wide variety of Autumnal activities, linking in with the change in seasons and weather
After enjoying autumnal stories together, the Tawny Owls have been excited to put on their coats and head outside into the grass garden! We put on our waterproofs and welly boots, and have a lovely time exploring, spotting the horses through the windows, bird watching, and seeing what plants our friends have grown in the allotment.
Indoors, we have also explored an autumnal sensory leaf tray, complete with pine cones and diggers. The children loved using their hands to pick up the pinecones, feeling them with their fingers, and had fun watching the leaves fall from practitioner’s hands! We have also enjoyed a rice and leaf tray, where the babies practiced their filling and emptying, and scooping the rice with spoons!
