Today our snowy owls at our Scarning setting have been busy making their own mixed berry yogurt lollies. They took turns to carefully scoop spoon fulls of berries into the lolly moulds and then topped it up with yummy yogurt! There was lots of discussion on the colour of the fruits. The children demonstrated good counting skills as they counted how many spoon fulls of berries and yogurt they had to scoop in the moulds. Some of the children were very observant of the differences between each other in regards to allergies and children needing to have different yogurts or juices to make their lolly. The practitioners spoke to the children about freezing the lollies to make them go hard before we can eat them. They are very excited to taste their own homemade lollies tomorrow!
At Little Owls we love to provide our children the opportunity to explore baking/cooking activities during their nursery sessions. We look to adapt these where required to still offer these meaningful activities in the variation of weather conditions.
