New Staff

Dear families, We would like to introduce you to Beth and Millie two new members of staff in Snowy Owls Toftwood who have started with us yesterday and today! Beth has got many years of childcare experience and recently been working at the NNUH and Millie is Our new apprentice.
Let’s all welcome Beth and Millie, we hope they have a lovely future with us!

Phonics

Today we have started our phonics programme for this year’s school leavers .
Each week we will be focusing on a different letter along with the catchy song which comes with this.  Barn owls are also provided with relevant writing sheets not this as a focused activity at home or nursery . We have also choosen to focus on a number each week to, to support our school readiness programme.  Phonics is beneficial for young learners that help them learn a language quickly and accurately linking in with their literacy development .
Linking in with our new idea of number of the week,Barn owls will have the opportunity to take part in play counting, sorting and matching games to the relevant number .
As part of our home learning we will be providing work sheets for this ,please bring your Barn owls library book bag in regularly to support their new home learning journey if you wish .
We hope you enjoy this programme with the catchy songs as much as we do ,
Rebecca and the Barn Owls Red team
This week we will be looking at the letter’s ‘ and the number ‘1’, from this we have held a discussion of what we make think begins with the letter ‘s’ from the help of our curiosity box , we found,
SC – ‘ sofia! Snake ‘
ABY – ‘sun ‘
We have also had the opportunity to mark make in flour and paint brushes for the letter ‘s’ .Please see your Barn owls Famly post for more photos and this week’s sound video!
