Night time fun & Halloween Chocolate Apples

Night time fun

This evening in Barn owls we have enjoyed some cozy time outside waiting for the stars to appear! We enjoyed a yummy drink of hot chocolate and as we waited the sun to go down, we voted on a book to read! Together we chose a book called “over and under” all about hibernation which is a topic we’ve been discussing lots this week!
the children listened intently to the story and looked up at the sky for the stars! Once the book was finished we discussed what stars look like and what else we can see at night!
“I see the moon!”
“one time I saw a bat!”
After this discussion we took the time to reflect on the book and our talk and drew some pictures of stars and other night time things such as bats and owls!
what a wonderful and relaxing evening! Well done Barn Owls!

Halloween chocolate apples

In snowy owls, this week we are focusing on the world around us and Halloween so we have decided to make chocolate apples with the children as this is one of the children’s interests.
Each child had the opportunity to create there own chocolate Apple with their friends. While the children were covering the apples in the chocolate there were using excellent listening skills while the practitioner was talking them through the next steps.
AB – ” sprinkles”

Well done Snowy owls

Star gazing

This evening Barn Owls Scarning have shown their curiosity towards it becoming dark whilst still at nursery! So as a group before heading home we went outside and did a spot of star gazing!
Unfortunately it was very cloudy this evening so instead we did some cloud spotting and discussed what shapes we could see together
