Open Evening, Trip to a church, Xmas Tree

Open Evening

Tonight, our Toftwood Snowy Owls and Barn Owls team have loved welcoming our families to our Open Evening.

This was a great opportunity for our parents to meet their child’s new Key Worker and for the children moving up to Snowy Owls and Barn Owls to enjoy looking around their new rooms and the wonderful provision they can look forward to in the new year.

It also offered lots of opportunities to ask any questions ahead of their child’s transition in the new term.   Thank you to all that came along we enjoyed seeing you and we hope you enjoyed the evening.

Trip to a church

Today some of our barn owls children from our Toftwood and Scarning settings went for a trip to Dereham Baptist Church with Laura and Sharon to deliver the wreaths we had made within our nurseries to contribute to their upcoming Christmas Wreath Festival.
We were invited into the church where we were able to have a look around. We saw their beautiful Christmas tree, saw the manger where baby Jesus will lay for their Christmas Day church service, heard about their Christmas advent candle, the big bath under the floor where they perform baptisms and heard all about where the wreaths will be placed within the church for the wreath festival.
The festival runs from Thursday 7th December to Saturday 9th December. Please see the attached flyer for times. If you have the opportunity please do pop down to Dereham Baptist Church and see if you can spot our wreaths and observe all the other wreaths made by schools, clubs and charities within the local community.

Xmas Tree

Today in snowy owls we put up the Christmas tree. The children enjoyed this and were very excited to put it up. Once the grown ups had set the tree up the children helped out the lights on and also the tinsel. After this the children each helped out the baubles on the tree finding a spare branch to put it on. The children were excited when the tree lights were turned on after there hard work of decorating the tree.
