Parents Evening, The Weather & Pancake Day

Parents Evening

This evening, we held our second parents evening at Toftwood. It was lovely to see so many parents come and see their child’s key worker and chat about their development.
We would like to thank all our lovely families who attended over the two evenings. We hope you found it informative

The Weather

This Week in Snowy Owls Scarning our theme is Weather with a particular focus on the nature surrounding us!🌿
Today our Snowy Owls and their familiar adults took a walk down to the lake, taking their binoculars to do some nature spotting! 🔍
Snowy Owls Spotted lots of lovely animals and plants too as well as observing different elements of the scenery such as the lake and sky!

Pancake Day

At Little Owls Scarning, we have been celebrating pancake day!
In Tawny Owls, we have been exploring a pancake themed sensory tray with flour and lemons. The children used the spoons to mix the flour and picked up the lemons to smell them. One child poured flour from the spoon and said “it’s in my hair” and giggled 😆
In Snowy Owls, we have had a builders tray with flour, baking equipment and scales. The children have been busy measuring their ingredients on the scales. The children used mathematical language and began to count “1, 2, 3, 4”
The children have also tasted pancakes and made choices about the toppings they had. Our most popular choice was chocolate spread 😋
In Barn Owls, the children have been decorating their own pancakes. The children chose their own toppings . The children said:
“So yummy”
“Banana please”
“More pancakes”
“I can’t spread it Hollie, can you help?”
The children have shown great independence skills and the ability to make choices throughout our activities. The children have enjoyed trying new foods today and enjoyed having a lovely treat
