Pretend bonfires, rockets and a tiger!
Today in barn owls Yellow we have been taking part in our forest school style activity! This week we made a bonfire using crates, train track as sticks and different coloured tissue paper to make the fire! We talked about fire safety and barn owls gave some great ideas saying “fire is hot you can’t touch it!”! After creating our bonfire we then sat on giant log seats and read one of our favourite stories “How to hide a lion“
Today in barn owls Yellow we have been using different loose parts to create rockets barn owls used their imaginations to create their version of a rocket. Barn owls talked about their experiences of watching fireworks saying that their rockets could go higher and faster! Barn owls also used their maths skills to identify different shapes on their rockets.
Another lovely session was had by all at our Little Owls community group “Owlets” yesterday.
Our little people enjoyed exploring the outside environment as they participated in the lovely story “We are going on a bear hunt ”
What a gorgeous photo of this little man enjoying the session with his mummy.
“The tiger who came for tea.”
This week in tawny owls toftwood we’ve been celebrating some of our favourite books and songs! Today we looked at ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ by making some tiger paper plate masks! We used various resources to create yellow and orange collages! As the children stuck the pieces down we discussed colours and textures
All of our tawny owls were super proud of their creations and couldn’t wait to send them home for families to see! What a roar-some activity!
