Random acts of kindness

Random acts of kindness

Today at Little Owls Scarning and Toftwood we have been celebrating ’random acts of kindness’ day by surprising our staff and parents with roses and chocolates!
Our children were given the opportunity to pick who they would like to give their gift to and together with a familiar adult they placed it on their car ready to surprise them
We hope that all families that received a ‘random act of kindness’ gift enjoyed them and that they put a smile on your face
‘Put flowers on mummy’s car’
‘I like chocolate too’
‘I put a chocolate oatie on micas car’
‘I am a kind boy’

More random acts of kindness…

oday has been the first day of random act of kindness week ! In Barn owls over at Little Owls Toftwood we have been busy at the craft table creating some lovely tokens of kindness which can be found around the hedges of our car park and our entrances.
Before starting this lovely activity we held a group discussion based around the word ‘kind ‘ and what it meant to each of us.
Some Barn Owls commented;
‘ Kind hands ‘
‘ We give hugs ‘
‘ Buy mummy flowers !’
‘ And nanas ‘
Later on today Some of our Barn Owls have been outside to visit the entrance to hide our lovely tokens of kindness made by us !
If you do find a token around our nurseries or recieve any ‘acts of kindness’ we would love it if you could please share on our Facebook page for us all to see
Keep watch for more random act of kindness activities next week

Celebrating the people we care about

This week in Barn Owls Scarning, we have been celebrating love and the special people we care about. To do this we have been taking part in lots of different activities such as baking and craft, but one particular focussed activity that the children enjoyed taking part in was our potion making tuff tray.
We set up the tray with various equipment for the children to use to create their own special love potions. Adding real flowers, glitter and other resources for them to experiment with. The children showed great concentration spans on this activity, and really focussed on what they were doing, using their imaginations and creativity. The children have also been showing their brilliant fine motor control, using the pipettes to suck up water, and move it around the tray and into different pots. This tray encouraged the children to work alongside and with their peers, and some lovely conversation between them.
“I love flowers”
“Mine is for my mummy”
“My hands a sparkly now”
“I can tip the water, look”
“Can I borrow that?”
“This sucks the water up”
Great job Barn Owls!
