Rememberance Day at Little Owls day Nursery

Remembering the brave soldiers

Today at Little Owls Scarning across our snowy owl and barn owl nurseries we have marked Remembrance Day.

We talked about the brave soldiers with our barn Owls and the different uniforms they would of worn.

Barn Owls then went on to make and decorate their own medals. Snowy Owls spent time decorating poppies and we spoke about why we wear a poppy on this day each year to remember and celebrate all the brave soldiers.

This activity is one of many in which we actively celebrate, promote and encourage British Values within our practice.

Poppies for remembrance

Today in Snowy Owls Toftwood we are decorating some Poppies for Remembrance Day!

We used our own brushes and added some glue, red and green tissue paper and some also did some colouring too!

We talked about how we wear a Poppy to remember some important people that helped us The Snowy Owls also talked about the special people in their lives too!

Lots of red glitter!

Tawny Owls Toftwood have been creating some lovely poppies today for Remembrance Day.

They used bubble wrap to create lovely marks on the poppies and lots of red glitter!

Our Tawny Owls really enjoyed making these special poppies to remember those before us.

This week in Barn Owls we have been focusing on people who help us, linking in with Remembrance Day.

Today at the creation station we have been busy making police hats using a range of craft materials and tin foil for a badge.

2 minute silence

To celebrate Rememberance Day, the Barn Owls at Scarning have enjoyed a morning of making their own poppies using red tissue paper, black card and green handprints to create their flowers!

The barn Owls then all discussed the reason why we have a Remembrance Day, and took part in the two minute silence, which they completed surprisingly well!!
