Sense of self, planting seeds & Fathers Day

Sense of self

This week in Barn Owls we are focusing on ‘ sense of self ‘ as a part of our count down to school programme.

Today in Barn Owls Red we have been looking into mirrors describing our facial features and colours.

‘ my eyes are blue !’
‘ I have curly hair”
“My hair is long”

The barn Owls throughly enjoyed this activity and were super proud of their masterpiece’s.

Planting Cress Seeds

Today in Barn Owls Red we have been planting cress seeds on our plant pots that we made last week!
The Barn Owls poured water onto a cup of cress seeds and waited for them to jellify! One said “it’s so slimey!”
After wetting some cotton wool, the children took a handful of seeds and patted them down onto the planter, making sure to be very careful.
The Barn Owls were very curious, asking “what are these seeds?” and “how long will they take to grow?”
We will continue to water our seeds and what changes happen over the next few days.
