Summer Holiday Displays

This week our Snowy Owls Scarning have been helping to decorate various summer themed items for our new summer holidays display!
The children used their creative skills and a range of media such as sand, paint, glitter and glue with sponges to create different patterns and effects!
The children were also very excited to see that there were holiday photos up on the new display board too, they loved pointing themselves out on the display to their peers and familiar adults! We will continue to add family holiday photos to our display as they come in too

My Sense of Self
This week in Barn owls is our second week of our six week to school plan , today we have been talking about our sense of self from the way we look and our likes and dislikes .
During this mornings group time we have been discussing what we like and dislike through food and activities !I
‘ I like chocolate ‘
‘ I like spiderman ‘
‘ I don’t like pipes ‘
‘ I like strawberries ‘
‘ I like the bikes ‘
Later today at the creation station Barn owls have had the opportunity to make their very own self portrait , to start this activity we have been using one of our senses looking though the mirror to ‘re create our very own self portraits, using available colours within the paint tray !
Whilst maintaining our attention ,Barn confidently picked the correct colours to represent themselves ! Stating why they have used relevant colours !
‘my eyes are blue ‘
‘ My hair is yellow ‘
‘ Lips are red !’
‘ I want green hair ‘
Another activity our Barn owls have the opportunity to express themselves in participating in show and tell , today a few Barn owls have shared images of their younger siblings and recent holidays this will help out Barn owls in starting school being confident in talking about themselves their feelings and the things that are important to them .
