Have you been enjoying the summer weather?
This week Barn Owls Scarning have really enjoyed spending time in our nature garden whilst we are experiencing this beautiful weather, exploring the trees and the nature that have started appearing in our gardens.
Recently Barn Owls have shown a real interest in our Maellable area and have loved engaging with playdough! Today we have taken the opportunity to make some plain play dough and went on a nature hunt to see what resources we could use with the playdough to create different marks, patterns and to see if we can mould our very own summer creatures!
In the nature garden the children found lots of lovely patterned leaves and flowers to use, we then went on a lovely walk to the lake and found several shaped pine cones and different types of flowers and leaves to add to our collection! Through out the day Barn Owls have really enjoyed adding their collective items in to the dough, moulding and rolling out the flowers and leaves to create the mirror image patterns and creating things like butterflies and bumble bees!
We would love to see what natural items you have found on your summer walks
