Tadpoles, Cracking News, Baking!

Tadpoles

This week in Snowy Owls Toftwood the children have been very excited about our new arrivals TADPOLES.

The children have been visiting in small groups and discussing how the tadpoles will turn into frogs.

We then extended our learning by creating a frog builders tray where we have been talking about the life cycle of a frog and singing 5 little speckled frogs!

The children said..
“Frogs jump”
“Ribbit Ribbit”
“1,2,3 lots”
“Here they are”
Well done Snowy Owls

Baking and decorating foods

Recently Snowy Owls have really enjoyed getting stuck into baking and decorating foods such as biscuits to enjoy at snack times!

Today we have been discussing about earth and things we might see in the sky both day and night such as “Birds, clouds, stars and rainbows!” So we took the opportunity to do some biscuit decorating and turn them into rainbows or twinkly star biscuits with an assortment of sprinkles and yummy icing or chocolate to have at snack time!

Snowy Owls practiced their fine motor skills when carefully applying both the icing or chocolate and the sprinkles too and were all very proud of their yummy creations!!
“I like chocolate” “that’s a cloud, like the sky” “mmm yummy!” “I love my biscuit” “can I show my Mummy and Daddy?” “yummy chocolate!”
