Police Visit

Today, the children enjoyed an exciting visit from Dereham Police officers. The officers began by showing the children their uniforms and a range of equipment they use in their daily work. The children were very curious and asked lots of questions about what each item was for. They were delighted to have the opportunity to try on parts of the uniform, including hats and protective vests.
After exploring the equipment, we went outside to see the police car. The officers demonstrated the flashing lights and explained how the car helps them respond quickly to emergencies. The children were thrilled to sit inside the car, pretending to be police officers themselves.
The visit supported the children’s understanding of people who help us and encouraged language development through questioning and conversation. It also promoted confidence, curiosity, and imaginative role play. The children showed great enthusiasm throughout the experience and demonstrated respectful and positive interactions with the visiting officers.
Thank you Dereham Police Department for your visit
