Toftwood Nurseries and Pre-Schools in Partnership Sports Day
Is your child attending Toftwood school in September?
If so the following details listed below are for your information regarding our nursery sports day.
Dear Parents and Carers
We are pleased to be able to give you the details of our Nurseries and Pre-Schools joint Sports Day. This will be held at Toftwood Infant School on Thursday 27th June, starting at 9.30am. We should finish around 11am. All children in any of the Toftwood Nurseries or Pre-schools who will be starting Toftwood Infant School in September 2019 are welcome to attend, and we would love to see as many parents and Grandparents as possible coming along to support the children and cheer them on.
In order to enable us to start promptly at 9.30am, can we please ask that your child arrives in a hat, t-shirt, shorts, plimsolls or trainers and with sunscreen applied. This is an important safety consideration for the children involved. Please also send your child with a named water bottle for use during the morning.
The arrangements for you child’s setting, Little Owls, are as follows:
• If you are coming to watch the event, please can you bring your child directly to the school ready for a 9.30 start, regardless of whether they usually attend Little Owls on a Thursday or not. Please arrive by 9.20 am at the latest and ensure your child is dressed as set out above and has a water bottle. Enter the school playground by the double gates behind the barrier on School Lane and walk across the playground to the field at the rear of the school. On arrival, please take your child to be seated at the rear of the race track and then parents will sit on the chairs opposite whilst the races are in progress. Children will not be allowed to sit with their parents at this time, but staff from each of the settings will be supervising and taking care of the children.
• If your child attends Little Owls on a Thursday morning and you are not able to come and watch, please take your child to Nursery as usual and they will accompany them over. Please ensure your child is dressed as set out above and has a water bottle.
If your child does not normally attend Little Owls on a Thursday and you are unable to accompany them, or send another adult or family member to accompany them, then we are very sorry but your child will not be able to take part as we will not be able to offer appropriate supervision for this event.
After the races, we will be having a circuit of sporting activities for the children to take part in and we would like you to accompany and supervise them as they make their way round the activities.
We appreciate that taking photos of your child at the event is important to you. However, please only take photos of your own child, and do not post them on social media.
We hope it will be a fun morning and would appreciate it if you could reply to your child’s setting by Friday 21st June so we can ensure the arrangements can be made. We look forward to seeing you there.
