Today was an exciting day at nursery as we welcomed two special visitors — Sid the Corn Snake and Mavis the Gecko!
The children had a wonderful opportunity to meet these friendly reptiles up close as part of our wildlife topic this week!
Sid the Corn Snake impressed everyone with his bright orange and red scales and gentle movements. The children were curious to learn that he isn’t slimy at all — in fact, he’s quite smooth to the touch and very cold!
Mavis the Gecko was a big hit too, showing off her climbing skills and sticky toes! Her big eyes and calm nature made her an instant favourite.
The visit sparked lots of thoughtful questions, imaginative play, and fantastic conversations about reptiles and their habitats. It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience!
We’re so proud of how gentle, curious, and brave the children were during the visit — and we’re sure you’ll be hearing all about Sid and Mavis at home!
